Research Points are a big part of Victoria II. They allow you to research new technologies and progress in the game. If you want to increase your research points with console commands you’ve come to the right guide.
In order to use console commands, you’ll need to know how to use the Victoria II console. To open the console, press the ` (grave) or ~ (tilde) key on your keyboard. To send commands type them into the text box and hit your ENTER key. For more help, see: Victoria 2 Console Help.
If you have the Hearts of Darkness DLC installed (see below if not), you can use the debug researchpoints command. All you have to do is type debug researchpoints, followed by a space and the amount of research points you wish to add, into the console. If you wanted to add 100 research points, you’d use this command:
debug researchpoints 100
And to add 1,200, you would use this command:Victoria 2 Westernize Cheat
debug researchpoints 1200
If you don’t have the Hearts of Darkness DLC, fear not, for you can use commands to start events that give you research points! An event you can use to add research points is the ’Colonial Exposition’ event, this event gives you the option of gaining 200 research points. To run this event, type the following into your console:
